108 Donations
An idea popped into my mind while meditating one day; why not challenge myself to give away some money every month to different interesting causes? I will look for charities and Social Ventures of interest anywhere in the world, and will split my monthly giving "quota" between several charities/organizations. It's time to become a philanthropist! Fortunately, there is no minimum dollar requirement. Why not join me? Explore! Offer some ideas, post a link, talk about where you give.

Donating to Film Production of Alan Watts; My First Dharma Teacher
One of the first, maybe the first, spiritual book I read was Alan Watts' "The Book on the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are".

This guy's writing hit a very deep part of my psyche/being. Hope the film is a success.
Happy to donate as a wider audience of his ideas and humour can only be of benefit!!
Cheers,
Michael

The Chronicles of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche
Went to a viewing of this movie-in-progress which is about the extraordinary escape of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche from Tibet.
At the viewing we heard that among other goals to enhance this film, is the hope of interviewing two of the surviving 14 people who made it to India along with CTR (out of the hundreds).
Latest donation goes to support this project.
Check out the videos from "Touch and Go" here.

Higher Risk Kiva Loan?
Can't deny the need. This loan to a person in Nicaragua. It is a "higher risk" loan given very poor economic conditions there... but isn't that the idea?;
Auxiliadora Varela Huete is a janitor working for the maintenance department in the central library of the "Nacional Autonoma" university in Nicaragua. She has been working there for 24 years.
This is her first time loan with Ceprodel (Kiva Field Partner) and it will be used to cover schooling fees and to improve her home. She will purchase 500 construction blocks, 10 bags of cement, and 1 tub of paint, and construction beams.
http://www.kiva.org/lend/265932
Will report on how she does as I hear more. I wish her well and good fortune.
Cheers,
Michael
